Laser Technology

The addition of a Laser Cutter has put OSI on the cutting edge of technology, literally. (Get it?, GET IT??) Technology once used purely for scientific purposes or menacing James Bond has been adapted for use as an apparel embellisher. Marketed as an applique/fabric cutter, the laser’s power & speed can also be manipulated to burn (bleach) and etch other materials such as plastic/lucite, wood, glass and paper products. Also, we're still working on ways to mounting this things on a shark.

Burning uses the laser at a low setting & fast speed to bleach an image onto denims and other dyed apparel. This process creates a tonal image on the garment without harming the fabric itself.

Etching, using different settings for different materials, carves an image into the desired material. For fabrics, etching can only be done on polar-fleece of different thicknesses. This process leaves a 3D tonal image in the fabric. On other materials, it creates the same effect but can be manipulated to etch multiple depths within the same image.
